TurfAssist is a division of Fisher & Son Company, Inc. a fourth-generation, family owned and operated ‘Green Industry’ corporation providing goods and services to turf and horticulture professionals. Created in 1928 as a flour and animal feed mill, Fisher & Son has since transformed into one of the top distributors of professional turf and horticultural products across the Mid-Atlantic region.

George has nearly 20 years of experience in golf turf management, project
coordination and capital improvement work. He began his career in the turf
industry at the age of 15, culminating to his most recent role as a Class B GCSAA
Superintendent at a top 100 classic course. He brings with him a passion for
sports turf that reaches beyond the world of golf while providing synthetic turf
conditions that exceed athlete needs and expectations.
Away from work, he loves being outdoors, golfing, family gatherings and spending
time with his dogs. His favorite way to spend his free time is exploring the world
with his wife, Madison, who is also a turfer by trade. He and Madison recently
welcomed the newest member of their family, their daughter Athena, who can be
assumed is destined to join the turf industry as well.
CEO, Fisher & Son
Michael joined the company in 1986 and has more than 35 years of experience in the turf and horticultural supply business. He served as chairman of Prokoz, the industry’s largest purchasing cooperative, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council and is formerly President of the Independent Turf and Ornamental Distributors Association. Michael is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and Westtown School. Outside of work, he loves the outdoors, exploring hiking trails near and far with his wife, Sandra. He also enjoys time spent with the many dear family and friends he feels so blessed to have in his life.
Sarah St. John
Vice President, Fisher & Son
Sarah is the first member of the fifth generation of the Fisher & Son family legacy. She officially joined the company in 2012 and worked her way up to Vice President, where she oversees the operations and administrative departments. Sarah is a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. In her free time, Sarah enjoys being outdoors and traveling with her husband.
