TurfAssist provides synthetic turf maintenance, grooming and repair for schools, athletic facilities and community centers across the Mid-Atlantic region. We go the extra mile for our clients to ensure longevity and playability of their turf.

Our team has more than 30 years of turf management experience and we’ve maintained fields of all sizes and conditions. We know what issues to look for and which areas of the field to tackle first. Turf management is a science and we’re constantly staying up-to-date on cutting-edge practices. And we’re not shy about passing on our knowledge to our clients.

TurfAssist is a division of Fisher & Son Company, Inc. a fourth-generation, family owned and operated ‘Green Industry’ corporation providing goods and services to turf and horticulture professionals. Created in 1928 as a flour and animal feed mill, Fisher & Son has since transformed into one of the top distributors of professional turf and horticultural products across the Mid-Atlantic region.

Jim Cornelius, C.S.F.M. (a.k.a. "Turf Guy")

Services Manager

Jim has nearly 40 years of experience in sports turf, building maintenance and capital projects and has spent the majority of his career in the public school system. He’s been a member of Keystone Athletic Field Managers Organization (KAFMO) and Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) for more than 20 years and was recognized as a Certified Sports Field Manager by STMA in 2010. For the past five years, Jim has served as a board member of KAFMO and a member of STMA’s editorial committee. He has written several articles for SportsTurf Magazine and is a contributing member of KAFMO’s magazine Between the Lines.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Jim lives in West Chester with his wife Myra, two grown children, and two grandchildren. In his spare time, he loves to travel to warm places and spend time by the ocean. Can’t say we blame him!

Michael Fisher

CEO, Fisher & Son

Mike joined the company in 1986 and has more than 30 years of experience in agricultural business. He currently serves as chairman of Prokoz, the industry’s largest purchasing cooperative, has served on the board of directors for the Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council and is past president of the Independent Turf and Ornamental Distributors Association. Mike graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business. Outside of work, he loves spending time with friends and family.

Anne L. Fisher

Vice President/CFO, Fisher & Son

Anne joined the company in 1990 selling equine feeds and supplements for Fisher & Son’s feed manufacturing division. She was instrumental in divesting the manufacturing division during a 1999 sale. Since then, Anne has maintained oversight of Fisher & Son’s operations and administrative departments. She’s also focused on driving business growth and creating innovative ways to stand out in an evolving industry. This includes channeling her entrepreneurial skills to establish TurfAssist in 2011 (as well as several other business ventures along the way).

Anne graduated from Lycoming College with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. In her free time, she enjoys boating, cycling, drawing and reading.

Sarah St. John

Operations Manager, Fisher & Son

Sarah is the first member of the fifth generation of the Fisher & Son family legacy. She officially joined the company in 2012 and worked her way up to operations manager, where she oversees personnel, inventory, budgets, fleet and equipment, deliveries, warehousing, accounting functions and quality control. Sarah is a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys traveling, yoga, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
